52 Lists: Week 22

As I was sitting and enjoying "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on Sunday, I started thinking about the Shakespeare productions I've seen live.  For the last year or so, I've had this little thought in the back of my head that I would eventually see productions of all of his plays either live or "live-ish."  What I mean by "live-ish" is a recorded production of a live show. Not a big-budget Hollywood version but anything like what the National Theater does with their productions - record them on stage, and beam them all over the world so those of us not lucky enough to live in Stratford, still get to see some amazing theater.

So that brings me to my list, I calculated the number I've seen already and have determined I still have quite a bit to go because these are all I've seen:

~ Macbeth at CenterStage in Baltimore: It was the very first Shakespeare I saw in high school, and I was definitely not a fan.

~ Romeo and Juliet with Orlando Bloom (Live-ish through NT Live): Good, but (and what I'm about to say is controversial) I'm not a huge fan of Romeo and Juliet.  It's always seemed a bit too over the top for me.  Though, I'm certain the draw for me on this one was Legolas as Romeo.

~ Coriolanus with Tom Hiddleston (Live-ish through NT Live): Never read this one, so I was not prepared for the violence, blood, guts and gore.  Rough one to watch!

~ Much Ado About Nothing with David Tennant & Catherine Tate (Live-ish through NT Live): Hilarious!  Those 2 play off each other so well and have the best chemistry.  I would have loved to have been in the theatre to feel the energy.  Also, the only Shakespeare show I know that has it's own soundtrack!

~ Richard II with David Tennant at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford upon Avon: Absolutely my most favorite production of Shakespeare (and pretty much my favorite of any type of production) ever!  David Tennant was phenomenal and I can't say enough good things about the production itself.  It blew me away.

~ Measure for Measure at The Globe in London: I learned 2 things during this production. 1. I was not made to be a groundling. One can only endure standing straight up on concrete for so long. 2. There are a few of Shakespeare's plays that are truly terrible.

~ Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch in London: Oh how I wanted to love this show.  It was Benedict Cumberbatch in the flesh!  But I hated it. The director moved around parts in order to get him on the stage faster.  The Set was enormous and just too much for such a personal play.  And he just wasn't as good as I thought he'd be.  After seeing this production, I appreciated David Tennant's performance so much more.

~ A Midsummer Night's Dream by the Annapolis Shakespeare Company: So great!  The actors were fantastic and the set (all outside) was perfect!

52 Lists: Week 20

Confession time - I had to go back through my posts to determine what week of lists I actually left off on.  Oops! Let's skip over that part, and move on shall we? Anyway, as I was thinking today of what type of list I should write, I got kind of a cool-strange idea for a list.

I realized I do a lot of things because of books (and articles, blogs, plays, etc.) I read a lot and because of this I get all sorts of crazy ideas in my head.  I'm sure (I hope!) we all do this, but the post started writing itself in my head and thought it would be fun.  So today's list topic is:

I like...... because.....

~ I have this weird obsession with the tiny country of Bhutan because of the book "Radio Shangri-La." I so want to travel there one day and all I basically know about it is what I've read in this book.

~ I plan to see the musical Cats when it opens at the end of this month because I read an article that said every good Broadway fan should see Cats - even though I'm fairly certain I'll hate it.

~ I really wanted to travel to Edinburgh Scotland because I had read the 44 Scotland Street series by Alexander McCall Smith and fell in love with the city.  (For the record, that totally worked in my favor because Edinburgh is just plain beautiful.)

~ I have this picture of all British villages being idyllic full of eccentric and lovely people because of every single book by Jenny Colgan.  (I was pretty much in heaven in the Cotswolds but annoyed that I didn't meet a lonely British farmer/bee-keeper/baker/solicitor that fell head over the heels for me as soon as he saw me.  Jenny's books have taught me that happens quite often.)

~ I believe that it's perfectly financially viable to buy a fixer upper in Provence or take 2 years off to sail around the Caribbean because of "A Year in Provence" and "The Spice Necklace."

~ For a while I had visions of living in a boarding house in San Francisco because of "The Tales of the City." I even planned to have a pot-smoking landlord just like Anna Madrigal.

~ I decided to never own a dog because of "Marley & Me." I couldn't stop sobbing at the end of life of a dog I was just reading about.  I'm fairly certain I would require anti-depressants to deal with that with a real dog.

~ My current dream job is cookbook editor and archivist in Manhattan because of "Delicious!"

~ I started trying everything I was offered because of "A Cook's Tour." "A Cook's Tour" is also the reason I want to try Durian and maybe Fugu (if I can get past the possibly deadly part...)

~ I visited Paris because of every book I've ever read having to do with people traveling to Paris.  I now know I could never (NEVER!) live there because of every book I've ever read having to do with people moving to Paris.

~ I'm sort of ok with my awkwardness, since it's not just me because of "Are People Hanging out without Me?"  Mindy Kaling is the much more glamorous version of me if her books are to be believed.  I thought I was the only one that had such random fears : )

~ I've decided that it's not a crime to just be nice and want other people to be nice, and it's possible to be nice and funny at the same time because of "Yes, Please."

52 Lists: Week 19

Because I'm on vacation at the beach, I thought this week's list should be all my favorite parts of the beach.

~ Sun, Sand and Sea - obviously!
~ Dumser's: The best place in OCMD to have ice cream, hands down.
~ Boog's BBQ: Owned by Boog Powell and just so happens to be right next to another of my favorite things of the beach -
~ Thrasher's French Fries: Just yum!
~ The outlets in Rehoboth
~ Sunsets and Sunrises
~ The Kite Loft on the Boardwalk and the Boardwalk too.
~ Fisher's Popcorn

52 Lists: Week 18

As you may be able to see from this photo, I'm by no means a "powerful" person.  If you know anything about the Ravens, this was my "Ray Lewis, I will Protect this House!" stance.  Somehow, it's just a bit more intimidating when he does it.  And after today, a day where nothing terribly bad happened, but a day where I felt powerless nonetheless, I started to think of what does make me powerful.  Or in the very least, what makes me feel powerful.  Not in an intense, violent sort of way.  But in a "I'm in charge of my surroundings and I've got everything I need to make it through" sort of way.

~ Being nice to people in a world where not many people are nice.  - It may sometimes seem to be a weakness, but I've always thought that being nice was a strength.  Real power is being able to influence someone's day by a kind a word or smile.

~ Knowledge - It's a bit cliche to say that knowledge is power, but learning something new that others may not know or figuring out something complex on your own, is a sure fire way to feel in control and powerful.  Needless to say, I've never felt powerful in a math classroom, but in others I certainly have.

~ Trying very hard and succeeding in being me, not someone that others are telling me to be.  I spend a lot of time listening to what others say and trying to decide if I should be more unwielding, or more direct like they are.  At the end of the day, I don't want to be them. Things may be a bit easier for them, but that's not how I was raised, so I try very hard to stray away from qualities that aren't inherently me.

~ Creativity - There's nothing better than the feeling of creating something entirely new that no one else has made before. It's a rush.

~ Being quiet - It's a hard conversation starter, and it definitely doesn't help with meeting Prince Charming, but I find power in the quiet.  Sometimes in listening you learn more than in talking and chatting incessantly.  Also, sometimes I just need a re-charge to feel my best. Quiet is the best way to do this.

~ And because of my need for quiet, I find a lot of power in writing.  - The quiet makes me not share a lot of what's going on in my head (Newsflash, there's actually a whole little city happening up there), but I am able to get it down on paper.  Just the act of writing it down, helps me to work through things and see things more clearly.

52 Lists: Week 16

Ali Edwards does this amazing project each year called "Week in the Life".  She basically documents everything that happens - some small and some big - in one week of her choosing.  And she gets tons of scrapbookers to do the same. I'm in awe because she seems to put so much work into it, and it always comes out looking so beautiful.  I've never tried though, because I'm not that interesting and I forget to document things almost immediately after I start a project like that.

So in honor of this being the week for that amazing project, I thought I'd list the things I always do each day.  And you should start to see why a week in the life from me would not be a real page-turner like Ali's is.

~ Hit the snooze button on my alarm for 30 minutes before getting up.
~ Wash my hair in the morning, dry it and then straighten it.
~ Drive to work with no music on which allows me to daydream.
~ Check Facebook, Twitter, Feedly and my email - about a dozen times over the course of the day.
~ Play 7 Little Words and Red Herring on my phone
~ Call my mom and dad
~ Check Huffington Post or CNN for any breaking news I should know about.
~ Have a cup of tea at some point in the day - usually at the time I can't stand being cold anymore.
~ Mentally dream up the next big adventure I have planned
~ Blog
~ Read in bed before going to sleep.

See?  I told you. Riveting stuff... : )

52 Lists: Week 15

Pre-job interview "do I look employable?" selfie
In all my NYC fun last week, I may have left my weekly list fall by the way side.  And I was doing so well, too.  Anyway, I'll just pick up where I left off this week.

So, I've been thinking a lot about work and jobs lately.  I say this a lot and it's absolutely true, I have no idea what I want to do.  I work in technology and education now.  Both are lovely fields to be in, but they don't make me happy to go in to work each morning, or fulfill me in any of the ways that I swear work should.  I know a lot about the kind of job I want. For instance, I know I want to help people, and I want to make a difference.  And I want to create and travel.  But jobs including all of these things, are hard to come by. If you know o any, please let me know. I have a resume waiting for you...

Now while I have no idea what I want to do with my life, I do have a few jobs that I know for a fact I CANNOT under any circumstances do.  Most everyone has those things they can't imagine doing.  At least I hope they do.  These are mine.

~ Dentist, Dental Technician, pretty much anything having to do with putting my hands in someone's mouth all day. Ewww!

~ Trash Collector - I'm quite thankful people that do this job exist in the world, because it's very, very important, but I'm even more thankful I don't have to.

~ Math teacher, math professor, math anything -  It's better for the entire world if I stay away from numbers in general.

~ Any type of job dealing with death and dying - I'd spend my life crying.

~ Fitness Instructor/Nutritionist - I'd be much healthier if I were to be one of these, however when it comes down to it, I just like to eat too much.

~ Performer - I can't act, dance, or sing to save my life.  And I definitely don't have the guts to stand in front of people and share that lack of talent with them to make it better.

~ Driver of any sort - If my trek to Boston taught me anything, it's that I get UBER-grumpy being behind a steering wheel for any length of time greater than approximately an hour. And if there's traffic, the grumpiness increases ten-fold.

~ Any job that would require me to learn how to use or carry a weapon - I don't like guns, knives, or anything else that can hurt people and I really don't think I'd be good at using them.

~ Nun - Let's face it, my liberal views of the world are just a bit too extreme for the Catholic Church these days.  Also, I'm not a big fan of the uniform : )

52 Lists: Week 14

I've never been a big candy eater.  If I want sweets I go straight for the cookies or the cake or the ice cream or any number of other yummy chocolate things.  And of I do go for the candy, it's NEVER fruit flavored.  I was the kid in the class that was bummed when teachers handed out lollipops or starburst.  Those were definitely not my style.  It's always been chocolate for me. And more specifically Dark Chocolate.  Don't get me wrong, I'll eat milk chocolate if that's all you have, but I definitely prefer me some Dark.

In the candy aisle, my favorites are:

~ Dove - either Sea Salt Caramels or Dark Chocolate squares or Dark Chocolate Truffles
~ Hershey's Dark Chocolate Miniatures - You can't always find them, but when you do, it's like Christmas!
~ Kit Kats - Yummy normally but even better when you can find the bag of White, Dark and Milk.  However, the White Chocolates always go to waste. (What's even the point of white chocolate, anyway!?)
~ M&Ms - Always plain, sometimes peanut in a pinch
~ Vanilla Butter Creams and Marshmallow Creams - In a box of chocolates, those are the ones I eat first.  My absolute favorites of these are found at the Annapolis Farmers Market - their handmade candy eggs are like heaven on earth
~ Mounds - Never Almond Joy: that pesky almond just gets in the way of more coconut and chocolate
~ Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
~ Caramellos
~ Milky Way Darks

While looking at this list, it actually does sound like I'm lying when I say I'm not a big candy eater.  But I promise you all of these come in tiny sizes and those are the ones I eat : )

52 Lists: Week 13

As you may have guessed, I have a slight affinity for bookstores.  I can spend hours just wandering around in them and often spend a great deal of money in them.  They are also the one type of store I always seek out when traveling.  There's nothing better than finding a really good bookstore!  For some reason, in all my travels to NYC, I've not managed to make it to the Strand yet, but one of these days that's going to change - until then, these are my favorite.
Bank Street Books in Mystic Connecticut
Pretty much every bookstore I went into in England.  At the time the Books are my Bag campaign was kicking off and for an extra pound, you could purchase this awesome bag to carry your purchases in - Love!
Green Valley Book Fair in West Virginia - So many cheap books!
My personal favorite of the few drama bookshops in Manahattan - The Drama Bookshop on 41st street.  Don't get me wrong, I happen to love Theatre Circle as well, but this one's selection is unbeatable.
Pretty much the entire village of Hay on Wye, Wales, though I was partial to the Mystery Book shop

Others - that for some reason I can't find a photo of - include, Book People in Austin Texas, Royal Shakespeare Company's Bookshop in Stratford-On-Avon England, City Lights Books in San Francisco California and the Smith College Used Book Fair, which isn't really a bookstore but is my most favorite place to find used books each year.

52 Lists: Week 11

In honor of turning 29 + 4 next week, this week's list is all about me.  This is me right now...I feel like as an addendum to this list, I should mention I know this is a terrible photo.  It's the only one I have that's been taken in the last few days. : )
  • Managed to actually grow out my fingernails long enough to have a manicure twice but I am still biting them
  • Have very very dark hair for the very first time in my life and am still shocked when I see it in photos or the mirror
  • Find it difficult to have to talk a lot of people.  I love being with friends and chatting, but after a while I need some time for me, and not talk.
  • Don’t want a pet.  Too much work!
  • Actively looking for work outside of Maryland in creative agencies and companies
  • Am not nearly as religious that I once was and I’m ok with it.
  • Totally obsessed with Twitter and Facebook and can’t go the day without checking multiple times – I’m also ok with this.
  • Cycles through loves – cities, countries, jobs, books, etc. Currently, it’s all NYC all the time – though I certainly wouldn’t turn down a trip to London and Austin any time soon.
  • LOVE to eat!  Any and all things.  I will literally travel to new places based on restaurants alone.
  • Am socially inept even when I try not to be.
  • Totally overwhelmed by Netflix – there are way too many things I want to watch that I just wind up looking through the list without making any decisions
  • Have a hard time “sticking the landing.”
  • Am snobbish when it comes to food, travel, and grammar.
  • Needs just a little bit of chocolate or something sweet after a meal.  I don’t need a HUGE piece of cake, but a small bite of chocolate will make me eternally grateful.
  • Hate the taste of Beer, Wine and all alcohol that isn’t tequila in my margarita.
  • Use the words “skeptical”, “cool beans”,“thanks a bunch” and “I’m sorry” way, way, way too often.
  • Am unabashedly happy when I buy a new book and even happier when I get to sit down and read it.
  • Clueless about makeup and actually doing something with my hair or putting together an outfit – it has everything to do with not sticking the landing.
  • HATE pedicures.
  • Will randomly decide to teach myself (with the aid of Pinterest) all sorts of crafty endeavors – Crochet, photography, watercolor, project life, etc.
  • Can sing showtunes quite loudly and quite badly at my desk forgetting when others are around (Dance moves included)
  • Am angered by rudeness and people being mean
  • Am enthralled by creativity and new ideas
  • Love dresses in the summer but avoid them with every ounce of my being in the 9 months that aren’t summer due to always freezing my butt off
  • Am unable to argue effectively
  • Am fairly judgey
  • Can’t resist biscuits, anything that comes with a soft-boiled/soft-fried egg, tacos, and banana anything
  • Can make a mean scrambled egg, and Green Chile Corn Soup
  • Will only drink Iced Tea, Hot Tea, Milk and Water
  • Can define complex processes for cooking and baking, listing ingredients, chefs and restaurants, but am often stymied by simple math problems
  • Will choose tickets to a live show or a plane ticket to somewhere new over just about anything
  • Have a current business plan for the future - winning the lottery
  • Have a complex future plan in my head that relies completely on luck and me being not me.

52 Lists: Week 11

Seeing that in my life, these shoes pass as snow-worthy footwear, you might already know this, but I'm not a big outdoorsy kind of person.  However there are definitely things I do love to do in the great outdoors - not many, but a few.  None of which take place in the snow, so I have an excuse for not owning snow boots of any kind...

~ I'm a big fan of walking around and taking pictures outside.  Usually in Annapolis but all the time while I'm traveling.

~ I'm not crazy about boats, but I do like kayaking.  I'm also a big fan of really big sailboats - not little ones that look like they'll sink if you look at them funny - but big ones that go fast.

~ Finding restaurants where you can eat outside is my favorite thing to do outdoors.  How can you go wrong with food and sunshine or moonlight?

~ Reading in the sunshine is another favorite of mine.

~ Swimming at the beach or in a pool are fabulous!

~ And while I hate any and all forms of exercises per se, I love taking walks, while I jam to showtunes.

52 Lists: Week 10

While compiling the list of the sites I visit EVERY day, I've learned 2 things.  One, I'm quite predictable in my site visiting as well as the order in which I visit them.  And two, the sites I visit are ridiculous.  No deep thoughts there...

There's the serious addiction to Social Media.  To be fair, I hardly ever post, but I do love looking at everyone else's posts. I'm quite partial to Twitter and Pinterest...
Then there's the requisite email check - usually full of stores wanting me to buy things.
Then I head over to Feedly Reader to read up on all the blogs that were post over night.  I have mostly crafting, food and entertainment blogs. I usually gravitate to articles posted by BuzzFeed, Studio Calico and TV Line.

Then I actually start reading intelligent articles.  I like to check the news overnight and since the NY Times and the Baltimore Sun require you to actually pay for a subscription, I tend to go to the Huffington Post for the big headlines - the big headlines that is, that I didn't see already on Twitter.
Lastly, if I find something fabulous on Twitter, I head over to Broadway.com, NY Times Arts section, NY Times Travel section and Serious Eats.

Oh and last, but not least, it's most definitely a trip to YouTube - usually while I'm reading to listen to a loop of about 20 music videos that are my faves.  It's a pretty great playlist - wish there was a way to get it on my iPod!

Like I said, there's not a lot of big thoughts happening on my daily internet searches.  However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of big thoughts happening in the hard news these days, so why not enjoy myself?

52 Lists: Week 9

This week's list is going up a wee bit early for 2 reasons: One, today is Monday and nothing good ever happens on Monday to write about and Two, I'm going somewhere super cool later in the week and I'll want to talk about then, not my list.  Therefore, this week's list is my Pet Peeves.

I don't have many pet peeves, but the few I do have are felt quite strongly.  Remember how I said I was judgey in last week's list? It's most often because people do one of these things: (BTW, this photo is a perfect representation of my "I'm not so silently judging you" face)

Rudeness - There's no excuse not to be nice to people.  It only takes a minute to say please or thank you or just smile.  Don't be a jerk.

Bad grammar - Oh, grammar, I love you so!  People go to school and learn grammar rules for a reason. You just sound like a moron when you don't use them properly.  (This was posted on Facebook a few weeks ago, and no truer statement has ever been written : )
Close-Mindedness - You don't always have to agree with everything I say (though things would be a whole lot easier if you did), but don't just shut down when you hear another opinion.  Listen to it, then if you still aren't convinced, agree to disagree.  I'm not an idiot because I don't agree with you and you're not an idiot for not agreeing with me.

Snobbish Behavior and/or Arrogance - We're not all perfect, so get over yourself.  I promise to not look my nose down at you, if you'll promise to do the same.

General Not Nice Behavior - I will agree that I'm often a little too nice in situations where I should be a little angrier.  However, I'm all for people being nice.  I just don't understand the attitudes some people have.  It's so much easier to be nice.  Compliment others.  Smile at them.  Ask them questions about their day.  I promise you'll be a happier person.

52 Lists: Week 8

Today's list I got from a book of lists.  It's sort of fun, but actually not so much.  These are my bad habits.  Of course, I have no bad faults at all, so it was quite the stretch to come up with the list : )
Bad Posture (According to this photo...)
Biting my fingernails
Judge-y
General social awkwardness in new situations
Starting way too many projects at once and not finishing any of them
Live inside my own head
Overthink everything

Maybe 2016 is the year to fix it all. Or maybe I can take the strong 21st century girl view, and say take me as I am.  Yeah, I'm not cool enough to get away with that...

52 Lists: Week 7

Apparently, when I was deciding what lists to do in February, I was in serious need of a vacation.  Because I chose 2 different travel related lists for this month.  This week's list is my most favorite travel destinations.

I can say without a doubt, my most favorite travel destinations are most definitely cities. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach and quiet little towns have their own charm, but if I'm deciding where to for any extended period of time, it's always going to be a big city.  And most often, it's a big city that has a big food culture.  What can I say?  I love to eat!  The last factor in my most favorite destinations - the second I got to every one of these places, I was ready to move there immediately.  I'd be quite content to live in any of these cities.

London
New York City

San Francisco
Unfortunately, my San Fran trip was about 4 computers ago so I have no digital photos of this trip - boo!

Boston
Austin
Edinburgh

52 Lists: Week 6

Mostly because it's Winter, and I'm dreaming of anywhere but here - this week's list is the states I've visited.  The sad part is, I haven't been to many.  Because I live on the East Coast, I've visited most of the coast, but after that there's not too many I've seen.  What's even worse is that there are many I don't really feel the need to see.  I'd much rather go to Spain or Italy than travel in-country. Nothing against those states at all, I'd just rather go to Europe than the US (of course that might have something to do with the state of the Presidential election than anything else...) Maybe that should be amended in the year to come.
Maryland (Of course)

Pennsylvania
New York
New Jersey (only if you count Newark International as New Jersey)

Connecticut
Massachusetts

Rhode Island
Virginia
North Carolina
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
Texas
Missouri
Arizona

California

Such a sad little list...But at least there are pretty pictures.

52 Lists: Week 5

I read. Alot.  So asking me to choose my favorite books requires quite a bit of thought.  Because, honestly, this stack could have been about 3x the size and it still wouldn't have encompassed all of my favorites.  But I suppose, this list has either the best of the best, or the best of a certain style or author that I'm particularly fond of, so let's just say it's a representative sample (How's that for election year speak?) and call it a day.

~ "Stillwatch" by Mary Higgins Clark: Not her best seller, but my all time favorite - considering I've read every one she's ever written, that's saying something.
~ "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Shakespeare: His first I actually read and understood.  Since then, I've grown partial to Hamlet as well, but fairies always win out.
~ "Bookends" by Jane Green: My first sample of "Chick-Lit" and it's my absolute favorite of the genre. So good!
~ "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime" by Mark Haddon: I never expected to like this book as much as I did.  I really wanted to read it because I REALLY wanted to see the show.  Both were outstanding!
~ "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien: My favorite of the series, but the rest are equally amazing.
~ "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" by Neil Simon: Technically it's a play but it's in book form so it totally fits the list.  It's much better to see it performed live but the jokes are still hilarious when you read them.
~ "Winnie the Pooh" by AA Milne: Pooh and Eeyore have been my favorite since I was little.  I can't wait to read the stories to my little ones some day!
~ "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by JK Rowling: The book that launched the series is always going to be the best.  What I love most is that I literally happened upon it in the bookstore one summer, and thought it might be fun to read - long before it became the best loved book in the world.  Nothing can compare to the first time diving in to such a fully-drawn out, brand new world.
~ "A Cook's Tour" by Anthony Bourdain: I read a lot of food and travel books, and this one fits both bills perfectly.  This was the first book that ever introduced the idea of "eating dangerously" and I love him for that concept alone.
~ "The DaVinci Code" by Dan Brown: Unlike Harry Potter, I didn't pick this one up until the hype was at its peak.  However, it's one of only a few books that I've finished in 24 hours - one very cold snow day.
~ "Yes, Please" by Amy Poehler: From beginning to end, this book is un-put-downable.  It's laugh out loud hilarious and you spend the entire book wanting to be Amy or at least be friends with her.
~ "Amy the Dancing Bear" by Carly Simon: This has been on my list of favorites since I received it as a gift when I was little.  The story itself is adorable, but my favorite part about it is the illustrations.  They're gorgeous!
~ "A Midsummer Night's Fairy Tale" by Brian and Wendy Froud: Like I said, fairies always win out and it's written by the creature creators that designed Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.  How can I not love it?
~ "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss: I adore everything Dr. Seuss wrote, so I can't pick a favorite.  This is just the first one I grabbed of the many I have.

52 Lists: Week 4

The only drinks I ever drink are:

~ Hot Tea - White, No sugar
~ Iced Tea - One Splenda and lots of ice (Oh and if there's no Splenda, I have my own I carry with me always, so no need to worry!)
~ Milk - Lots of Ice
~ Water - Also lots of ice.  I only ever drink it though if there's nothing else I like (i.e. Iced Tea) or if it's super hot.
~ Margarita - On the rocks, No salt (The only alcoholic beverage I will drink due to the lack of any carbonated substances in it)

52 Lists: Week 3

There's a radio program in England called Desert Island Discs.  Basically famous people go on and play the albums they'd take with them to a desert island.  I can't narrow anything down to discs, but I can tell you some of my most favorites that I would definitely be taking with me if ever I was to be stranded on a desert island:

~ Any (and every) song by Billy Joel
~ RENT, Wicked and Godspell cast albums
~ "With a Little Help from my Friends" by Joe Cocker
~ "Blackbird" by Paul McCartney
~ "American Pie" by Don McClean
~ "Me and Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin
~ Anything Sugarland
~ "It Felt Good on my Lips" by Tim McGraw
~ "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" by Jake Owen
~ "Wagon Wheel" by Darius Rucker
~ "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel

52 Lists: Week 3

In My Bag, there's always:

~ My wallet - of course
~ Glass case - full of sunglasses, glass cleaner, a guitar pick, a broken necklace, and one earring (Don't ask...)
~ Gift card wallet - you never know when you might need to get some shopping in!
~ Splenda - not all restaurants have it and I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my Iced Tea
~ Pen - No paper of course, just a pen
~ Brush - to tame this ridiculous mane of mine
~ Mints of some kind - at this point, one month out of Christmas, those mints happen to be candy canes
~ Whatever book I'm reading at the time - BTW, Felicia Day's book is Awesome with a capital A!
~ And you may notice the lack of a cell phone - rest assured, that's always there too.  However, it's quite difficult to take a picture of the cell phone you're currently using to take the picture, which is a shame because you're missing the truly amazing Sherlock phone case I have on it.
