Friday Five

1. I adore snow days!  They are my new most favorite things.  Even today without the snow, just working in my pj's and just waiting for the snow to start, it was fabulous!

2. The Creative Faces Project: These photos are just gorgeous and so creative!  I love the idea of a twist on a classic portrait.  Not to mention, they're all Broadway peeps, so that makes them even cooler.

3. Who knew the creatives at Pixar were so darn into classic movies? Some of these shots were a little bit of a stretch, but a lot of them are pretty amazing!

4. I love Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. It's almost annoying how witty and clever they are. Excuse the language in a few, but these thoughts on Life are 100% true.  What I wouldn't give to be able to say a few of these to random people on an everyday basis! Also, I'm thinking of using #11 in my Match.com profile : )

5. Every #Ham4Ham is amazing in its own way.  This one is doubly amazing!

Neat Net Finds

Every once in a while I realize just how cool it is to live in the future where there's internet and interactive theatre and live productions being seen by millions of people all over the world.  Today was one of those days.  Two totally awesome, fairly amazing, clever and creative ideas popped up in my newsfeed that I just had to share.

First up:  Midsummer Night's Dreaming with the RSC.  This is a thing that's actually happening and I'm entirely too excited  about it for my own good.  It's my favorite work by Shakespeare being performed for a new generation with interactive "stuff" (for lack of better term since I'm not entirely sure I have my brain wrapped around it quite yet) thrown in for good measure.  You can join the group on Google+ (yet another thing I haven't gotten my head wrapped around yet) and participate in chats leading up to the big premiere, as well as additional content and surprises.  I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the casting announcements.  But it's the RSC so whoever they get, is bound to fantastic!

Then (also across the pond in where else but England!?) is Hugh Laurie live at Abbey Road.  He'll be playing a special session from his new album at Abbey Road and if you're not lucky enough to be there, you can listen to it live online!  I personally think that all concerts should be done like this but then again, I'm sure it's not so profitable.  Oh, well, it's pretty spectacular while it lasts!

Friday Five

1.  I believe it's the newest Volkswagen commercial but it could be another car company.  However, it's about the cutest ad I've ever seen.  I had hoped to include a YouTube video of this however I can't seem to find it.  The ad shows a brand new baby in his car seat placed in a car.  When the new dad starts to take off, another car narrowly misses them and the little baby's life passes before his eyes, which is everything we've just seen since his life has just started.  It's hard to explain but it's absolutely adorable and I wish I could show it to you.  Keep an eye out for it while you're watching TV.  You're sure to love it!

2.  The multiple fabulous headlines that came out of the Pope's resignation this week.  My favorites were from Huffington Post "Ex-Benedict" and The Guardian "Holy Wait and See".  I'd love to know how late the writers stayed up trying to crack those nuts.

3. The rounds that the Ravens are making to the late night talk shows.  Between Harbaugh appearing on Letterman, Jacoby Jones on Kimmel and Flacco appearing everywhere, there's been quite a bit of purple on the talk show circuit.  My favorite so far has been the Coach on Letterman.  He just seems so likable, which pretty much sums up how he seems all the time.

4. "Unchain my Heart" by Hugh Laurie: I only found out about this today because I follow Stephen Fry on Twitter (yes, I've become one of "those" people that say things like that...) I've loved his other music and this one is just as fab.  Though, I have to say my favorite part was the British-y self-deprecating bit in the beginning.  Another one of those guys, like Coach, that you just can't help but like.
5.  The "Churchill Arms" in Notting Hill.  I can't believe I never happened upon this gorgeous pub the last time I was in England, especially since I was actually staying in Notting Hill.  But it's most certainly on my itinerary this time around.  I haven't even looked at the menu yet but the outside looks as blooming gorgeous as their website says.
