Trip-y Tuesday

As I'm writing this, there are now exactly 2 weeks to go until I leave for Europe.  And I now find myself doing that totally annoying thing you do when someone mentions specific dates.  For instance, someone mentioned a meeting they would be attending on October 14.  To this I replied, oh cool, but you know what?  I'll be in Edinburgh on October 14.  Yes, it's annoying, but I just can't seem to help myself : )

It's all fairly planned with nothing more left to do than the boring stuff: call the credit card companies, call Verizon, print out the boarding passes.  I've even pretty much bypassed the packing doldrums by doing it months ago.  At this point, it's just a process of waiting, and waiting and waiting...You get the picture.

While the plans still exist, quite extensive plans with terrifying maps and spreadsheets, it's actually seeming more do-able as the time goes on.  There'll be plenty of time to relax and enjoy and get the chance to see just about everything.  As well as fill up the carry-on with lots of fun things.  Even though, I talk about it and write about it every chance I get, I've even relaxed about it a bit.  I'm in NO way less excited about it but knowing it's so close is fairly calming.  Also knowing, somewhere in the back of my head, that this will not be the last big trip in my future.  As crazy as it sounds, I'm already mulling over a return trip sometime next year (if I don't already live there, which, let's face it, with my luck, will most likely not be the case...)

I really have to say this trip planning thing is quite the lark.  If I could do this all day, every day, I may just be a happy girl.  Of course all the perks that come with that type of work, would also be well worth it.  If only there was a job that entailed those duties.  I might just have to think about this more closely...Travel Planner has quite the nice ring to it : )
