Friday Five: Halloween Edition

1. I love handing out candy because you get to see all the kiddies in some super cute costumes.  I was expecting loads of Anna's and Elsa's this year but only saw 3 and 2 Olaf's which were my fave.  Of course, none could compare to my favorite little trick or treater dressed as a Ninja Turtle.  After sticking his head almost completely in the doorway and sizing up the place, he said "I like your house." I foresee a future in interior design : )

2. Witchy Woman: It's a terrible photo but it was very early and selfies really aren't my forte. But the Salem witch hat went over well and I couldn't resist giving the parrot (my company's mascot) a little hat of his own.  Some witches have crow sidekicks.  Apparently mine is a parrot.

3.  I think everyone knows that Ellen is the queen of the costumes.  But she may have just outdone herself this year.  In honor of George Clooney's nuptials to Amal Almuddin, Ellen dressed up as Amal and George's wedding photo.  Complete with black wig, wedding dress and a tux for George.  Too funny!

4. Say what you want about Chris Evans, but this little guy is a much cuter Captain America!  And in case you were wondering, I saw this costume because I follow Clark Gregg on Twitter.  I find it awesome that all day people were sending Marvel costumes to him and Ming Na, as well as Firefly costumes to Nathan Fillion and the stars were re-tweeting all of them.  How cool is it that these guys and girls are noticing fan creativity!

5. Had I found this list sooner, I'd like to think I would have completed all of the items on it to celebrate Dia de los Muertos!  Totally keeping it for next year!

Happy Halloween!

CyberMD - Last Day - Yay!

After an extremely full and awesomely productive 2 days at Cyber MD that saw 2 of our instructors being the rock stars that they are, our CEO being a key note speaker, the Governor of MD introducing our CEO and a litany of fantastic comments from all sorts of convention goers, I am officially tapped out.  It's exhausting like I said last night.  I'm not sure how people do more than of of these things a year.  But I'm hoping that by this time next year, I'll be recovered enough to have the same fun all over again.

Thanks Cyber MD!  You were awesome and not nearly as scary as I thought you'd be (but still a little scary...).

Things I Learned at my First Cyber Conference

~ Some people are inherently good at talking the talk.  They can chat with anyone about cyber, technology, and computers, and make themselves look all sorts of charming in the process.  Conversely, some people are just inherently bad at doing the same.  I'd say most of the guys I work with are in the good category, while I count myself in the bad category. However, those same guys that can talk cyber like no body's business, are truly terrible at making the everyday small talk.  So I suppose, at least I have my own little niche.

~  It's all about the swag.  Pens, styluses (styli?), candy (LOTS of candy), phone chargers, give-aways - It's all good.  And everyone wants them.  I watched one convention goer not talk to a single vendor but grab every piece of swag in an entire aisle of vendors.  Thankfully, someone was giving out bags so at least he had something to put it all in.

~ Fireside chats and briefs, are pretty darn boring.  Everyone seems to go with the sole purpose of complaining about just how boring it was.

~ Conferences are a HUGE business.  Some companies do them REALLY well.  They have a whole process complete with swag, fancy speeches and lots of signage.  Others are not shall we say, experts and set up a few measly pieces of signage, then leave to attend a brief (or 10).  I saw the vendor across the aisle from me exactly once in the 10 hours I was there...

~ Padded booth carpeting is the BEST invention ever.

~ These things are long and exhausting.  As I'm writing this, it's 7:30 pm and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open.  What's worse is that I'll be in exactly the same place I was today in less than 12 hours.  Ugh!

Cyber Confession

I have spent the last 3 months working on, scheduling and organizing a cyber conference. This is a big deal.  Thousands upon thousands of dollars have been put into this event.  We have a whole plan for 2015 and this is the big kickoff.  And today, I spent the entire day setting everything up and worrying about whether swag was going to be here in time.

So what't the confession you ask?  I'm supposed to actually man the darn booth tomorrow.  I'm supposed to stand there in my specially purchased logo shirt and pretend I know what the heck I'm talking about.  Here's the thing, I don't...Not a darn clue.  I have no idea what I'm going to say to convention goers.  I have no idea what I'm going to say to someone who wants to know about cyber things.  I have no idea what I'm going to say to someone who wants to know about one of our classes.

Long story short, I'm screwed.  I feel a cough coming on....think it's too early to call in sick tomorrow?

Pinning in the Kitchen

This week's recipe is courtesy of  The Girl who Ate Everything.  No, that's not what I call myself, though I probably should. It's a blog that serves up all sorts of yummy recipes.  I've tried a few of hers before that were complicated.  They always turned out ok, but the easy factor wasn't there.  This week's had the bonus of being super easy and super delicious.

I pinned it a few weeks ago and have been planning to make it since then.  The recipe is for Monterey Chicken.  Before you ask, I wasn't sure why it was called that either.  But I learned that it was because of the monterey jack cheese used to make it all gooey delicious.  In that case, I suppose I should call my version Chedder Jack Mix Chicken, but that's beside the point.

The verdict is that the recipe is perfect for a weeknight meal.  I have a super difficult time with time management in the kitchen.  Absolutely nothing gets done at the same time as everything else.  However, with the marinade time needed for this one, I was able to mix up the first part, throw it in the fridge then get everything else ready before actually cooking the chicken.  How's that for simple!?  And it was perfect with the house recipe rice and my favorite corn muffins.  The perfect meal for boring old Monday!

Sunday Football Thoughts

~ When did these yearly games start appearing in London?  I get why they're doing it - they want to promote the National Football League outside of the US.  It makes sense.  But somehow I don't think the Brits have the same fascination with football as Americans do. But, while we're on the subject, when are the Ravens going to get their chance and most importantly, how do I win some tickets to that game?

~ Whenever the Ravens play a team that they're "sure to beat" they wind up losing...losing ugly.  That's just the way it is.  I personally think they get cocky but I suppose it could be for some other reason as well.  Honestly, how do you explain a team that won its last 3 straight games, losing to a team that lost their last 3 straight games?  It's embarrassing.

~ While I happen to appreciate the "No More" ads in respect to domestic violence awareness, it would have been a bit more appropriate had they started appearing before all the Ray Rice madness rather than in response to it.  The ads are a good step forward but it just proves the NFL was a pretty out of touch before the Rice case happened.

~ Man there were some seriously high scoring games this weekend!  My personal fave was the NE-Chicago game: 51-37.  At one point I think the poor Bears were down by 30 points. I'm not such a fan of the Patriots so it's nice to see the Bears could at least make them work a bit harder towards the end there.

~ While getting to attend the game last week was all sorts of fun, I have to admit the food is SO much better at home - Homemade Pretzel dogs and cheese sauce.  Yum!

~ I'm all for honoring the past and giving credit to those who came before you.  But, really?  Are horizontal yellow and black stripes attractive on anyone besides bumblebees?

Iron Rooster

Seeing as I'm a big fan of eating good food in general, I get very excited when new restaurants open.  Of course, lately there haven't been many.  There have been a lot of closings but not many openings.  That changed this month when Maria's in Annapolis closed and Iron Rooster opened.  The deal is this: breakfast served all day.  Now that alone, would make it pretty popular.  But add to it, the awesome menu and great atmosphere and I think they may just have a hit on their hands.

If the breakfast I had this morning - a burrito with scrambled eggs, cotija cheese, peppers, onions and BEEF BRISKET (yes you heard that right brisket!) smothered in poblano pepper sauce - is any indication of the rest of their menu, Iron Rooster should win every restaurant award out there.  The food was absolutely delicious!  If I wasn't so darn stuffed after the burrito (which I'm currently still dreaming about) I probably would have returned for lunch AND dinner.  The Ramen and the breakfast burger are already calling my name.

Can't wait to get back there soon!

Friday Five

1. I've pretty much always felt this way, and I may or may not have said it before, but I adore Mamma Lucia's restaurant!  I'm there at least 1-2 times a month - this week alone it was twice.  Delicious!  Best Italian restaurant in Maryland, hands down.

2. I know it's not Halloween just yet, but these parent/child and dog costumes are super adorable.  I'm partial to the Dia de los Muertos of course and I dream of weenie.  It almost makes me want to buy a dog just so I can dress him up for Halloween.

3. I'm a little too proud that I aced this quiz.  Though I've been pretty much singing the song since yesterday so it does have its downside.  But it's pretty much one of the best Broadway songs ever written so it's worth it : )

4. I love being busy and having paint nites, and Ravens games and craft days to go to.  But I have to admit, having nothing planned for the weekend is pretty darn enticing.  Sleeping in, here I come!

5. How great are these photos of older dogs?  What a fantastic idea!  I have to say that Elmo and Jackson may be the cutest dogs I've ever seen!

Cyber For Dummies

I've spent the last 2 days in a class that was essentially a Cyber For Dummies class.  Considering how very little I actually know about cyber and computers, it was pretty much the perfect class for me.  Aside from a lot of cool tips and tricks, I learned one big thing: I'm terrified of computers now and I have every right to be.  Holy cow!  Do you have any idea how many different ways a bad guy can get into your computer?  There are at least a hundred.

I mean, seriously, I found out they can hack your webcam and apparently taping over it, is a good idea. They can hack your thumb drive and un-erase files.  They can hack your credit card numbers from amazon or anything.  They can hack your email and send you some crazy little worm thing that looks like something else, and when you open it, you're officially screwed.

But I think the most terrifying thing which I thought only happened in movies, was Anonymous cyber-targeting some woman from Maryland because she did something they didn't like.  I mean she kinda deserved it but we're talking Guy Fawkes mask, voice modulator and ransom. (I'm gun-shy on the creepy video but if you search Youtube for Marley Station Mall Anonymous you'll find it).  Holy crap!

Is it too late to not live in the future?

Bestie Paint Nite

This week's paint nite was in honor of the bestie's birthday.  We painted Ego Alley in Annapolis, ironically in a bar in Baltimore.  In the grand scheme of things, this painting was not nearly as cool as the first one of Venice but heads above the rinky dink sunflower from last week.  But I do have to admit the bar was much cuter with the added bonus of a gelateria right down the block open late : )

Office Life

When you work in an office, there are definitely things you learn.  It's like its own little ecosystem, but every office shares pretty much the same "species" of people and the same mundane issues.  Here's what you learn when you work in an office.

~ No matter how brainy a computer geek is, some aspects of common sense escape them.  They can tell you how exactly a computer works, step by step, but possibly forget to eat lunch.

~ CC, POC and calendar invite become part of everyday language and you use them in sentences even when you said you never would.

~ Admins rule the world and if you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you.  In reverse, if you're evil to them, they can make life difficult.

~ Supplies are raided without warning and if you don't lock them down, you're screwed.

~ There is literally food everywhere which is fabulous for when the techy computer geeks forget to eat lunch.

~Managers are much too important to make their own coffee, clean up their own messes or send their own emails.

~ People put too much stock in what exactly is in the coke machine (or what's lacking, more clearly) what's free that day for lunch and what can be done for them.

~ Lights are over-rated.  Mornings sitting at your desk in quiet solitude in the dark, are a wonderful way to start the day.  Until of course, someone believes the opposite and ruins the whole mood.

~ And last but not least, not to get all ageist, but the ones that have been around for a long time always think they know more than the newer ones, which just makes life difficult for everyone.

But I gotta admit, and I never thought I'd say this, but office life is pretty good sometimes.

Girl Power!

With all this talk about feminism these days and women standing up for themselves, I have a hunch that some of them may have taken it to the extreme.  I'm all for equal pay and equal partnerships.  I'm for women being in power in boardrooms and offices.  I'm also for women staying at home with the kids or leading classrooms.  I'm for not being looked down upon for being less than a man.  And I'm for women having their own thoughts and ideas.

But, there's a small faction of women that have gone overboard with the whole I'm woman, here me roar schtick and those are the women that are hurting the rest of us.  These women have gotten to a position of power.  They've made it to the top by working hard and being good at what they do.  But instead of helping other women, they use their power for evil. They don't help.  They don't mentor and they sure as heck don't treat other women as equals.

I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this but I suppose I'd just like to say: What's that about?!  Feminism would go a whole lot further and a lot more smoothly, if we were all in it together rather than that old dog eat dog world...Just a thought.

A Beautiful Day for a Football Game

I may have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, but I do have to say working for the man has its perks, like free tickets to the Ravens game in section 107.  That's the first level baby.  So much fun!  The fact that they beat the Falcons by a whole lotta points, was totally icing on the cake.  Gotta love a great football game!

#E4K

Today's E4K (Endure for Kindness in case you hadn't heard : ) craft party went super well! All parties crafted and ate the day away.  After 6 hours, which was considerably puny based on other E4K'ers stats but still decent in the long run, we managed to create 30 cards to donate for St. Jude's Ranch.  Can't wait to get them in the mail! Thanks ladies for such an awesome craft day and Thanks Random Acts for spreading the love!

Friday Five

1. E4K: Endure for Kindness is a fundraiser for Random Acts and it's pretty much exactly what it sounds like.  You pick an activity, and you do it for a long time.  Tomorrow is the day and as opposed to others who are hiking or biking or kayaking, my friends and I are crafting. We chose to make greeting cards for St. Jude's Ranch.  If you want to donate or create cards yourselves to donate, check out how to do so here.  I'm hoping for at least 50 cards but we're all pretty much perfectionists when it comes to crafting so we may not get so lucky...

2. Getting a chance to get out and about in DC for work.  We've been crazy busy lately, and so it's always nice when you get a chance to get out of the office for a while but still continue to be paid to do so.  Today was a gorgeous day to be outside and having the chance to be that city worker walking between buildings and grabbing lunch was pretty fun.  Of course, the traffic to get there and back, continued to suck so there's always that drawback preventing me from becoming a DC jetsetter.

3. Chop't: While in DC, I tried Chop't for lunch.  I'd never heard of it but luckily the guy I was with is an even bigger foodie than I am so he hears of all sorts of fun places.  This is a specialty salad place that chops (hence the name) all the ingredients into little pieces.  I'm not sure how that makes it taste better, but it was pretty darn good, so what do I know?  They even had normal iced tea which is always a plus.

4. 31 things people with wanderlust understand: Other than the F-bomb in the article, this article is 150% true.  I'm pretty sure every one of these items have gone through my mind at least once...The funny part is that I always thought it was just me who dreamed of travel 24/7 but lately every conversation I have with people at work or friends, has revolved around travel.  Loving that everyone else is loving it too!

5. While everyone else is talking about the Walking Dead coming back, I'd like to go on record and say that The Good Wife is pretty much the best show on television right now.  Every season I say that there's no way they can top themselves, then the manage to do it right out of the gate for the next season.  Between Julianna Marguiles and Alan Cumming the acting is top notch.  As for the story lines, they're smart, often hilarious and downright intriguing.  I may sound like a little old lady but I'll take good old fashioned legalese over zombies any day!

Throwback Thursday

This time last year I was preparing to see David Tennant on the stage of the RSC in Richard II.  In other words I was pretty darn happy.  I had just arrived in Stratford upon Avon and had just fallen in love with the quaint little town.  I had eaten at the Dirty Duck and enjoyed my first Sticky Toffee Pudding.  I was pretty much high on all things Shakespeare.

Tell me again, why I'm not there now...

So Sad

After a season of so many ups and not many downs, seeing the Royals beat the Orioles to get to the World Series, was just a little, ok, a LOT depressing.  They've played so well and so hard this entire season.  Getting to the World Series seemed like a foregone conclusion.  But as good as the O's were, the Royals were just a little better.  In this series they couldn't do any wrong while the O's couldn't do anything right.

But even with the loss, all of Baltimore is still behind the O's.  They made the whole city care about baseball again, for the first time in a very long time.  They showed us how to play under pressure and kicked butt in the process!  I suppose since they're out now, they can focus on the 2015 season.  It is afterall, just around the corner... #Wewontstop  #Ibackthebirds

In My Expert Opinion

When searching for something interesting to write about this evening (on Pinterest, where else?), I came across an article titled, (and I quote): How to Establish Yourself as an Expert.  Um, ok...Is that a thing in today's society?  I always sort of assumed you either were or weren't an expert at something.

For instance, if someone were to ask me the square root of 336 multiplied by 24, they would quickly realize that I'm most definitely not an expert in anything having to do with numbers. So not my thing.  I wouldn't need to do much more than stare at them blankly to prove that I'm most certainly not a math expert.

However, if someone were to ask me the point of Pinterest for example, they'd quickly realize that I'm a little obsessed.  They'd also realize I was an expert on all things pinteresting.  But that's about it, isn't it?  I would give them all sorts of fabulous information regarding how to use Pinterest, what to search for and how you can use it for marketing or in everyday work.  Based on my constant stream of useless information, one could make the assumption I'm an expert.

I didn't need to do anything to establish that fact.  It's just true.  If you're attempting to establish the fact that you are in deed an expert and you have to do more than just share information, doesn't that stand to reason that you are in fact NOT an expert?  Just a thought...

Pinterest in the Kitchen

I'd like to think that my Sunday spent in the kitchen, contributed slightly to the epic win by the Ravens yesterday, but somehow I don't think so.  What it did contribute to was me being very, very stuffed.  What it didn't contribute to is my photo collection - I'm a terrible blogger, let me tell you : )

First up was the salsa verde beef.  I'm always for a crock pot recipe and one that's delicious is just about perfect.  It was super easy and with a few tweaks (I didn't have at least 3 of the ingredients), it was very yummy.

Next up was Chili's skillet queso knockoff.  It was also super simple and may have actually beaten the original.  Once again, I was missing a few ingredients here and there so I fudged it.  Somehow it just worked.  The queso and the beef together made some seriously to die for soft tacos, even if I do say so myself.

For dessert was Grandma's Old Fashioned Chocolate pie, which was actually too much chocolate even for a chocolate lover like me.  It might have had something to do with the fact I only had Dark Chocolate cocoa powder (the chocolate was so dark, it looked like it was possessed by a demon : ).  But it wasn't bad.  I think it would have been better if I had added meringue.

All in all, a very good Sunday for cooking!

Paint Nite!

Apparently these paint nite things are the new thing in town.  I went to one last year and had a blast so I was more than willing to go again this year.  While it was fun and the company was great, I have to say that this year's painting left a little to be desired.  I liked last year's mostly because it was very step-by-step and quite easy to follow.  This one was a little more loosey goosey, which is bad when you're as terrible a painter as I am.  So, while I'm all for a good time, I'm not thinking this ridiculous sunflower is showing up anywhere on my walls anytime soon.

Comically Speaking

I must admit a certain fondness (some might call it an obsession) with watching panels from conventions on Youtube.  One of the fabulous things about living in the future is that everyone has a video camera on their phone these days and everyone uses them.  You don't have to be in San Diego or Toronto or NYC to hear what all the geeky stars are saying.

What always gets me with these panels are the Q&A's from the fans.  Fans have quite the eye and ear for detail so the questions are entertaining to say the least (and sometimes just a bit uncomfortable).  "What exactly were you thinking when you did this in episode 6 of season 2?" or "What happened behind the scenes on August 3, 2011?"  The good guys and girls; the geeky stars that aren't just at the con because their publicist told them to be there, are always kind and accommodating to these fans.  They answer the questions the best that they can and they don't belittle or tease the question-askers.

But even when being so kind and honest, I start to wonder, what exactly is going through their minds when these questions are being asked.  Being around a production is everyday life for them.  It's a job like we have.  So it's certainly not as exciting or entertaining as we make it out to be.

All that being said, what in the world would people think if they were posed these questions in real life?  Some questions are slightly cringe worthy, afterall.  I have to say I don't think I would have the same patience or tact when answering, not to mention asking. (Full disclosure: I give major props to the people that go to these conventions and let their freak flag high.  I'd be too embarrassed but they let it all hang loose.) And I know for a fact I wouldn't be nearly as interesting or hilarious as the real geek stars answering.  But I can certainly try...

Here's a real question that someone asked and my attempt at an answer.  I hope to do a few more of these in the future, mostly because they make me laugh (if not anyone else).

"What are some silly or embarrassing things you do?" (I'm not sure anyone in my entire life has asked me this question - but for some reason a fan asked it at a convention.)

I talk to myself a little too much.  I have full conversations with the television and answer my own questions out loud.

I also sometimes forget that people I'm talking to or I'm with, can't hear what's happening in my head.  So sometimes, I will say random things out loud that no one understands because they haven't been privy to the last 6 thoughts that brought me to that  particular epiphany.

Like I said, I'm not nearly as charming as the stars.  Here's how the pros do it. : )

Friday Five

1. I've always loved this song.  Well, when I say always, I mean pretty much since "Love, Actually".  This version might actually stand up to the last 3 minutes of the best romantic comedy ever written!  Still not quite sure why they did it, but I'm happy they did.

2. The O's are currently playing in the ALCS championship!  We're down by one run, but we we were down by 4 so we're almost there.  #Wewon'tStop  Go O's! Update- We're now tied!

3. Absolutely anything RENT themed is pretty much perfect. How sweet is this?!

4. In the grand scheme of things, the fact that this inspiration is still around should be the top of my Friday Five list every single week.  But seeing as she rightfully won the Nobel Peace Prize should be sung from the rafters.  Malala Yousafzai  has been an inspiration pretty much her entire short life.  She's amazing and is proof that Pakistan's closed off regime won't silence the real revolutionaries.  Most of all she's someone the women and girls of that region can look up to and emulate.

5. Theatre on television is about the best invention ever.  While I would very much like to get to every show in NYC, it's a little impossible.  But now that Great Performances is screening some fabulous shows like "The Nance," I'm a very happy camper.  Speaking of "The Nance", Nathan Lane may be one of the most underrated actors in NYC and Hollywood together. How has he not won all of the awards!?

Currently...

I was told today, by a friend whose dog house I'm in, that I never talk about myself (which is why I'm in the dog house.in the first place)  In my defense, if she'd asked, I'd have gladly told her what she wanted to know.  But because I didn't say something immediately, she got a bit bent out of shape.  I'm not sure how I feel about that.  I'm not a big talker in general.  But I've always felt that the whole, brag about everything happening in your life at that very moment, was a bit overwhelming.  Honestly, I'm not that interesting.  In other words that's not how I roll.  But in the interest in making her happy and not mad at me, here's all about me currently in one little post.

I am...sitting on my sofa wrapped up in a blanket trying to clear out some shows off the DVR. (In this case, Supernatural)

I keep...wishing tomorrow was actually Saturday instead of Friday after a ridiculously meeting-filled day.  Though the fact that Monday is a holiday, does make things look a little brighter.

I wish I could...get away somewhere for a quick vacation for a battery recharge.  North Carolina would be nice.

I love...the Orioles and the fact that they're in the playoffs.  I'm used to all of Baltimore getting excited about the Ravens but seeing the orange everywhere is so new and so exciting!

I read...a little too much about the George Clooney wedding in Italy.  I was under the impression he was waiting for me to marry.  Imagine my surprise when he wed the lawyer instead... ; )

I dance...never.  But I do jam to some classics in the car in the morning.

I think...meetings that last longer than an hour should be outlawed.

I really...need to get get a clue with Etsy.  I've been leaving it by the wayside lately and need to get back into the research.

I need...a haircut badly.  But as usual, I'm being totally indecisive.

I should...be in bed.  My eyes are fluttering and I'm pretty sure I've lost the thread on this storyline...

I can...do this much better than sharing this information in person.

I like...cupcakes, especially the double chocolate one I had tonight.  Yum!

I make...cards and such but I've been severely slacking.

I always...Pinterest.  It's a minor obsession that I'm pretty much ok with.

Off to Snooze....

After snoozing on the sofa for at least the last hour, my brain's a bit mush so being coherent may not be possible.  I'm off to bed now and will return to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow...

This I Love

Alex Ovechkin may now be my favorite sports star!  After taking the cutest little girl ever to his hockey game, he took her on a "sushi date" that she had asked him to a few days before. She's about the most adorable little one ever.  How is it she had the guts to ask out her idol, but I turn into jello in regular everyday conversation? : )  You go girl!

Take That, eBooks!

I love books.  I love browsing bookstores for hours on end.  I like having book shelves full of them.  I even like having to buy more bookshelves due to the overabundance of books I have.  I love children's books and pick them up whenever I'm travelling somewhere.  I read fiction, mysteries, travel, chick lit, fantasy and pretty much everything in between.  The one thing I don't do, is read them on an eReader.

I like holding them in my hand.  I like seeing how many pages there are and how many pages I have left.  I love being able to read my book anywhere I am, and not have to worry about whether or not there's wifi or battery life.

So the last few years, while everyone has been predicting the death of books, I've been quietly sitting here, hoarding while I can.  But today after reading quite an interesting article on Huff Post, I'm jumping for joy.  Apparently, in the first half of 2014, print books outsold eBooks by a large margin.  Ha!  Finally a win for the non-techies!  Take that eBooks!  I'll just be sitting over here celebrating quietly, with my nose buried in a book most likely : )
