I'd like to think that my Sunday spent in the kitchen, contributed slightly to the epic win by the Ravens yesterday, but somehow I don't think so. What it did contribute to was me being very, very stuffed. What it didn't contribute to is my photo collection - I'm a terrible blogger, let me tell you : )
First up was the salsa verde beef. I'm always for a crock pot recipe and one that's delicious is just about perfect. It was super easy and with a few tweaks (I didn't have at least 3 of the ingredients), it was very yummy.
Next up was Chili's skillet queso knockoff. It was also super simple and may have actually beaten the original. Once again, I was missing a few ingredients here and there so I fudged it. Somehow it just worked. The queso and the beef together made some seriously to die for soft tacos, even if I do say so myself.
For dessert was Grandma's Old Fashioned Chocolate pie, which was actually too much chocolate even for a chocolate lover like me. It might have had something to do with the fact I only had Dark Chocolate cocoa powder (the chocolate was so dark, it looked like it was possessed by a demon : ). But it wasn't bad. I think it would have been better if I had added meringue.
All in all, a very good Sunday for cooking!
