52 Lists: Week 15

Pre-job interview "do I look employable?" selfie
In all my NYC fun last week, I may have left my weekly list fall by the way side.  And I was doing so well, too.  Anyway, I'll just pick up where I left off this week.

So, I've been thinking a lot about work and jobs lately.  I say this a lot and it's absolutely true, I have no idea what I want to do.  I work in technology and education now.  Both are lovely fields to be in, but they don't make me happy to go in to work each morning, or fulfill me in any of the ways that I swear work should.  I know a lot about the kind of job I want. For instance, I know I want to help people, and I want to make a difference.  And I want to create and travel.  But jobs including all of these things, are hard to come by. If you know o any, please let me know. I have a resume waiting for you...

Now while I have no idea what I want to do with my life, I do have a few jobs that I know for a fact I CANNOT under any circumstances do.  Most everyone has those things they can't imagine doing.  At least I hope they do.  These are mine.

~ Dentist, Dental Technician, pretty much anything having to do with putting my hands in someone's mouth all day. Ewww!

~ Trash Collector - I'm quite thankful people that do this job exist in the world, because it's very, very important, but I'm even more thankful I don't have to.

~ Math teacher, math professor, math anything -  It's better for the entire world if I stay away from numbers in general.

~ Any type of job dealing with death and dying - I'd spend my life crying.

~ Fitness Instructor/Nutritionist - I'd be much healthier if I were to be one of these, however when it comes down to it, I just like to eat too much.

~ Performer - I can't act, dance, or sing to save my life.  And I definitely don't have the guts to stand in front of people and share that lack of talent with them to make it better.

~ Driver of any sort - If my trek to Boston taught me anything, it's that I get UBER-grumpy being behind a steering wheel for any length of time greater than approximately an hour. And if there's traffic, the grumpiness increases ten-fold.

~ Any job that would require me to learn how to use or carry a weapon - I don't like guns, knives, or anything else that can hurt people and I really don't think I'd be good at using them.

~ Nun - Let's face it, my liberal views of the world are just a bit too extreme for the Catholic Church these days.  Also, I'm not a big fan of the uniform : )
