The Agony & The Ecstasy

The Agony: For those who thought I was exaggerating when I said the Train the Trainer class I would be taking this week would be painful, I'd like you to know that it was even worse than previously thought.  It was 8 LONG hours of pure torture and I'm already dreaming up ways to get out of it for the next 3 days.  When I originally thought about the class, I knew the subject matter would stink, and giving a presentation would be torturous but I assumed since the trainer was teaching a bunch of trainers, she would at least be semi-good.  I'm here to say she was not.

She's a lovely person who, I'm sure, has lots and lots of knowledge.  But she's also used to teaching high school students instead of a bunch of highly technical (excluding me of course) ex-military guys.  After the first 1.5 hours was spent discussing what we were going to discuss, I knew it was only a matter of time until it all went downhill from there.  The next 6. 5 hours weren't much better.  Now I'm stressed, annoyed and I still have NO idea what I'm supposed to present on Thursday. Awesome.

The Ecstasy: After a very good friend spent 3.5 long hours in the queue this morning at the butt crack of dawn, I'm happy to announce, we have tickets in hand to see Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet in 2015!!!  I realize it's 367 days from now, but seriously how cool is that?!  When the train the trainer got to be just a little too much, the thought of my tickets got me through the day : )
