A few years ago, if the Orioles and the Ravens would have played a game on the same day, it was a sure fire bet that the Orioles would have lost and the Ravens would have won. This was most especially true if the Ravens were opening the season at home. However, it seems that's no longer the case. The Orioles have been on a hot streak since about last last season and it's pretty much only a question of when will they win as opposed to if they're going to win. And the Ravens have been in a slump since about the same time, and it's now a question of how often Flacco will screw up a play as opposed to will they make the playoffs.
Today's home opener was truly ugly to watch. Going into the game, the Ravens had won every one of the last 8 home openers. After the game, our streak had been broken and Flacco's future as an "elite quarterback" was definitely in question. I can't put it all on him though, the whole team just looked sloppy. To top it all off it's a short week capped off by a Steeler's game this Thursday, who, in case any one was wondering, managed to pull out a win today. So you know, the hits just keep on coming.
I hate to be a fair weather fan, but football isn't all that interesting when the team you love is losing....
