Words can not express how much I adored this particular show today. Jim Parsons is sheer brilliance and I am ecstatic I got to see him in the role. The show is something new and different. It's basically an hour and a half of stand up comedy. Jim Parsons (otherwise known as Sheldon Cooper) is literally playing God, the father of all things. Well, not so much. As you learn in the first few minutes, God "has decided to show himself to us in the form of beloved television actor Jim Parsons, because he has 10 new commandments he'd like to share with the Jews - which is why he came to NYC." (Ha!)
From there on it was 90 minutes of perfect wit and charm. I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt and my sides ached. All I could think, through the whole show was, gosh I would I could get this on film. I'll never remember all of the jokes, but rest assured, every last one of them was spot on. Hours later and I'm still smiling over some remembered one liner or sight gag. I'm hoping Broadway will start churning out a few more of these "limited releases" especially if they're even half as good as Act of God, and of course they must all star Jim Parsons, because this show is by far in the top 5 shows I've ever seen, and I'm currently trying to figure out a way to see it again before it closes.
PS: Let it be known, that I will start using the line "wrath management issues" in everyday conversation, because that just needs to happen. : )
